Walking 1,200 miles in memory of my dad; taken too soon but never forgotten.
Twenty-five years ago, my life changed forever. I was just 18 when my dad tragically passed away after a brief and unexpected struggle with brain cancer. The pain of his loss has never truly faded, but it has fueled my determination to honour him and make my family proud in everything I do.
This year, I want to commemorate that challenging time by embarking on my fourth long-distance pilgrimage—walking approximately 1,200 miles from Canterbury to Rome. This journey is more than just a physical challenge (especially following my recent hip replacement); it’s a heartfelt tribute to my dad, a testament to resilience, and a mission to support those currently battling cancer.
With each step, blister, and mile, I walk for those who cannot. I walk for families who are grieving, for the fighters still in the fight, and for the moments that were taken away too soon.
Throughout this adventure, I aim to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, an organisation dedicated to providing life-changing care for those facing cancer. They offer comfort, guidance, and hope when it’s needed most.
I would be incredibly grateful for your support, whether through a donation, joining me part of the way, or simply sharing words of encouragement. Thank you for being part of this journey with me.
